During my early days at BET Networks, a division of Paramount, I got a crash course in the entertainment industry and learned just how vital the behind-the-scenes action is. Picture this: I got to jet-set across the country for some incredible activations, like the electrifying BET Experience and the empowering Black Girls Rock event. It was all about diving into the nitty-gritty of production, planning every little detail, watching those budgets like a hawk, and teaming up with the production crews to make sure everything went off without a hitch. But that's not all! I also had a front-row seat to see the magic the PR and communications teams worked on the ground. I got to take part in press tours across the nation for the New Edition Movie, seeing firsthand how media plays a huge role in getting the word out. And let's talk about the big events—I was the logistics guru, making sure everything ran like clockwork. We teamed up with big names like Coca-Cola and iHeartRadio to jazz up events like the BET Experience, adding that extra zing! One standout experience was managing the cast of the New Edition Movie. Coordinating accommodations for premieres across 10 major U.S. markets was a whirlwind, and it all paid off when the premiere hit the screens, pulling in a whopping 4.2 million viewers and becoming BET's most-watched premiere. It was a real lesson in talent management and its huge impact on a project's success.
